In a time and age when reading has become an under-appreciated art, we believe in the life-giving power of words to bless and inspire, in the same way that the Lamar Valley still wows those who walk across her floor and stare up at her majestic peaks.

Praus by Hunter Lambeth

Praus

Hunter Lambeth

Praus—the ancient Greek word for meekness, strength under control—is a meditation on the quiet power of a life surrendered and redirected. Lambeth's debut explores the transformative difference between weakness and a strength that chooses to kneel.

The Valley

The Lamar Valley, nestled in the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park, is a relatively small area, stretching a mere eight miles east to west, and only half that distance north to south. To many it is considered one of the most majestic and spectacular territories in all of North America. It is often called the "American Serengeti" due to the presence of large numbers of wildlife. Elk, bison, wolves, grizzlies and mountain lions roam the valley and the mountains that surround it.

In many ways, the Lamar Valley today is virtually the same as it would have been hundreds of years ago, long before Yellowstone was established. Minus the paved roads and the human traffic, the valley stands as a majestic reminder of what was—a time when the world was more in step with creation and its Creator—and, because of a commitment to stewardship and the protection of resources, also a conduit between the ages, offering those who visit today a glimpse of what can still be.

The Press

Lamar Valley Press is a newly established publishing company created in much the same vein as the valley it was named after. We seek to bring readers words and narratives that connect the past with the present, and lay a foundation for a future full of hope.

Stories and anecdotes that are rooted in matters of both faith and imagination, bridging the two and taking a deeper look into humanity as image-bearers of an image worth emulating.

We invite you into a journey, rich with possibility and promise, and into an experience with the written word that just might speak to your soul and unmask your true self, the same self that God stamps as beloved.
